Computerized Engine Diagnostics
- Engine light on
- Slow cranking
- Rough idling
- Pings or knocks when accelerating
- Decreased fuel efficiency
When something goes wrong with your car, chances are the onboard computer can tell you about it. You may see a specific light, such as "ABS Brakes" or less specific such as your "Check Engine" light.
Taggart Automotive has the latest diagnostic equipment to identify what part of your engine or vehicle needs service, providing you with a complete analysis of the current conditions and a repair cost estimate.
Based on the Diagnostic readings, some engine components that may need to be serviced include:
- Emissions
- Engine sensors, including: crank/cam sensor, oxygen sensor, airflow sensor, EGR sensor, MAP sensor, temperature sensor, throttle position sensor
- Coil packs
- Distributor cap and rotor
- Ignition wires
- Ignition module
- Fuel pump
Some people try to disregard their Check Engine light. The best thing to do when your check engine light appears or you notice your car isn't running the same is to bring your vehicle into Taggart & Sons Automotive.
Once we determine what the problem is, we’ll carefully review with you what (if any) work needs to be done and exactly how much it will cost. With Taggart & Sons Automotive, there are never any unpleasant surprises. We do our best to keep you informed every step of the way.

No matter how your car tells you, weather it is a light that says "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon", DON'T WAIT. Something has gone wrong with your car and it could save you a lot of money by fixing it sooner rather than later. Bring it in and we can tell you why the light came on. Then you can make an educated decision to when and how you are going to fix it.
